My Observations From The Tire Shop!

A few days ago, Holli proudly purchased her very own first brand new car.All on her on and in her own name. Delivering me from having to cram myself into the Miata. While grateful to have the use of the little car, it was a relief. Thank God I did not break something getting in and out of the little thing the past five months.

With Holli having her new car, I was awarded the use of the of MY car, a bigger and more spacious full-size Mazda CX-9. Our oldest son came home for the week-end visit and drove the car to take Holli to the dealership to take possession of her car that they had fit to her request. Having not driven that car in many months, he sensed that there was something not right about it. I honestly did not pick up on it and I did not drive the car that much.

Upon further inspection, we noticed some uneven wear on one of the front tires. It looks like it's out of line! That's odd since it has not been that long at all since we had had an alignment.

So, here I sit on a rainy Saturday morning, at our local tursted tire shop pondering this, among other things. There can be a lesson in this, so here is my take on it...

There are many similiarities in the journies we make on the roadways and the journey of life. Conditions, hazards, detours, reckless actions of others... We take our cars for granted. We crank the car and make our trip and if it gets us there and back, we're happy. We could know if we hit something or if something hit us. What we may be totally unaware of are hidden things around us (like a sports bag that left a scratch down the right side), or in this case, what's going on underneath.

So back here at the tire shop, four new tires. New Year. New Tires, we good, right? Not yet. The manager, skilled in tire stuff, noticed that the brand of tires noticed that the tire they had previously put on the car had not performed well. He placed a different brand on there. New tires and different tires. The new tires got balanced. We gettin' there. Almost good!

Then on to the second location several miles away for an alignment check. Yep, after checking and as expected, I needed (speaking for my car) a four wheel alignment. We had a referral and coupon so it brought our price down a bit.

So, here's my point even though you thought I didn't have one. We are all on a journey... LIFE. And life happens.

We may be very much aware and feel when we take a direct hit. But what about the things that are not-so-obvious? The seemingly small insignificant things that wear on us slowly, a little bit at a time almost undetectable?

Someone could see that and bring that to our attention. Or, you could begin to sense that something was or is just not right. Hopefully, the issue will be caught in enough time and we can get it taken care of before it becomes a bigger issue.

Wearing down? Just not feeling right? Maybe you need some new parts. Maybe you need to find balance (or as I like to refer to it, integration). Maybe you're abit out of line and need a RE-alignment. We all get a bit off-kilter at times. We do need regualr check-ups and routine maintenance. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. If there's a problem, fix it. If there is an issue, resolve it.

Don't let things wear you down. And another thing, don't forget your warranty! The Bible gives the best advice and instruction. Jesus Christ covers us when things go wrong. And the cost has already been covered!
